The Call for Presentations for the 4th Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Summit is now open.
The Summit will be a virtual live event, and free to attend! If you are interested in presenting, we’d be delighted to consider your OSINT-focused talks.
Our audience is truly global in scope, with people attending and speaking from around the world, representing many different cultures. They work in intelligence fields and law enforcement, for financial companies and the gaming industry. Attendees will range from veteran OSINT investigators to people for whom this may be their first interaction with the OSINT world. So, please submit talks and workshops that reach any and all those people.
This Summit is intended to enable OSINT enthusiasts and practitioners to share their wisdom and experiences regarding topics including, but not limited to:
- Capturing, recording, and harvesting open source information
- Exploring the varied applications of OSINT in industry/the community
- Accessing and collecting data from social media
- Using tools and automated processes to accelerate OSINT collection or filtering of data
- Ethical issues concerning OSINT collection and analysis
- OSINT case studies of investigations you performed (sanitized, of course)
- OSINT and its relationship with other forms of research, investigations and intelligence work
Tips for submitting your talk:
- Be detailed in your abstracts and outlines. Show the OSINT Summit Board your talk outline and what you will cover. In previous years’ submissions, some talks that sounded interesting were rejected due to the submission being too sparse.
- Consider the length of your talk and ensure you have the appropriate amount of content.
- We love accepting talks that have “to do” items our audience can take action upon. Adding a simple slide to the end of your presentation with action items can really help get these points across to our audience.
- Our audience is global. Talks that embrace global OSINT topics may be selected before talks focusing on those OSINT issues of a certain country or region. Make sure your talk is applicable to our entire audience to increase the chance of it being selected.
- Please do not submit talks that require specialized paid tools.
- Please do not submit talks that promote a paid OSINT tool, service, or company. We know your tool, website, company is the best at doing whatever it does. This is not a platform for that promotion.
Who Should Submit:
Diversity of thought is critical to any organization's success, and SANS Summits encourage participation by everyone regardless of age, culture, religious affiliation, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identification. Whatever your background, whoever you are, we encourage you to respond to a CFP. We welcome people who are newer to the field or who have not yet done any public speaking, and we can provide coaching and guidance to help you develop an impactful presentation.
