CALL FOR PAPERS
The New York State Social Work Education Association (NYSSWEA) is proud to announce a CALL FOR PAPERS for the 51st Annual NYSSWEA Conference to be held at the Holiday Inn, Saratoga Springs, NY, from October 3-5, 2018.
The theme of the conference is Transforming Consciousness: Social Workers as Social Justice Architects
The conference cordially invites social work faculty, deans and directors, field instructors, students, practitioners and administrators to present their latest findings and new ideas based on ongoing research, practice, and experience associated with the conference theme.
The NYSSWEA is a statewide organization. Its annual conference is meant to provide a forum for social work faculty, administrators, students, and practitioners to exchange information regarding social work education and related issues.

Submission Guidelines (Paper Proposals)
The following paper categories are welcome:
Full papers (40 minutes sessions)
Categories that are appropriate for presentation (40 minutes) include:
- Pedagogy: Demonstrations of teaching strategies utilized to deliver some aspect of the social work curriculum.
- Program Administration: Strategies and/or resources in the administration of social work programs at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Curriculum Development: Models, frameworks, or resources utilized to deliver a component of the social work curriculum.
- Field Education: Field education issues and/or strategies for implementing various aspects of field education in the social work curriculum.
- Research Report: Original research with implications for social work education.
Scholarly Paper: Scholarly papers describing theoretical discussions and insightful analysis of issues, trends, perspectives, and new models for exploring and understanding the field of social work and/or social work education. - Practice Reports: Innovations in social work practice with implications for curriculum development and delivery and/or social work education.
Posters
- Projects and interests that can be effectively displayed in a visual format aided by appropriate handouts and personal interaction with the presenter. Posters will be displayed throughout the conference with a designated time period for authors to be present to discuss their posters.
In your PDF "paper" proposal submission, please designate if the submission is a poster or full paper and the category. Additionally, include 2-4 sentences for the conference brochure and a description of the presentation's content (500 words maximum) for the abstract that includes a bibliography. Authors must have an EasyChair account in order to submit a proposal. If you have previously used EasyChair, that account may be used for NYSSWEA Conference 2018.
All submissions are subject to blind peer-review by members of the NYSSWEA Submission Review Committee. In case of difficulty in submission, authors may mail their papers, in Microsoft Word format, to hilarski@gmail.com
