The metaverse – a virtual environment that can be accessed from anywhere in the world – opens doors for researchers in many disciplines. Not only can it collect a wealth of data from participants, ranging from eye tracking to movement, but it also lets researchers transport participants to any location that can be created. But, like with any new technology, there are many challenges and considerations when it comes to ethically and securely creating an experience for participants.
