MateriART | 2020
The ever-increasing changes in design and construction technologies have totally altered the way we think, design and build. Accordingly, in the field of architecture, theory, design, practise, actors, materials, and research have been transforming. We define materiality as an umbrella concept that embraces all the fragments of the whole materialization process starting from architectural imagination, conceptualization, and design to the act of construction. MateriART symposium aims to discuss materiality under three main themes as Architectural Design, Research and Technology.
This is the second symposium of MateriART: The Art and Science of Materiality in Architectural Design Education, Erasmus + funded KA 203 project, whose partners are TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Department of Architecture, Turkey, The University of Lisbon, Faculty of Architecture, Portugal, The University of Thessaly, Department of Architecture, Greece, Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Built Environment, The Netherlands, İstanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture, Turkey, Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Architecture, Italy.
