On 2–3 June 2022, an international conference on Minor Finnic Languages will be held in Uppsala, Sweden. The purpose of this conference is to give researchers working on minor Finnic languages the opportunity to present current research, participate in formal and informal discussions on relevant topics, and explore potential opportunities for collaborative work. We especially encourage junior researchers to present their work.
Papers related to all aspects of minor Finnic languages and linguistics are welcome; we are not expecting papers on standard Estonian or standard Finnish. The keynote speeches will be given by Riho Grünthal (Helsinki) and Valt Ernštreit (Riga) and address the topic of the typology of Finnic (Grünthal) and the revitalization of Livonian (Ernštreit). Peer-reviewed conference presentations will be published in the Studia Uralica Upsaliensia series.
The conference languages are English, Estonian and Finnish.
The conference will take place online if the pandemic situation requires it.
Please submit an anonymous, one-page abstract - in PDF format only - in one of the conference languages via EasyChair by 15 March 2022.
