Introduction

The book will cover tools and techniques for multicriteria decision making, in particular methods for criteria prioritization, alternatives evaluation, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and group decision making for addressing interdisciplinary systems engineering. Different categories of multicriteria decision making methods namely value measurement (e.g. AHP, ANP), goal, aspiration or reference level (e.g. TOPSIS, VIKOR, GRA), outranking (e.g. PROMETHEE, ELECTRE), data envelopment analysis, rule based methods, consensus models, multiattribute utility and value models, stochastic multicriteria acceptability analysis and Dempster Shafer theory will be presented in detail. Decision making under uncertainty will also be covered. Practical problems from industry and research projects will be used to demonstrate the application of the proposed approaches.
