MAG2021 aims to bring together scholars, researchers and professionals from different disciplinary backgrounds, especially those interested in language and communication research, L2 teaching and related areas.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions should present either complete research or research in progress where, at least, some relevant results have been obtained. Proposals can be submitted to be delivered as:
- Individual papers (20 +5 minutes)
- Posters
Submissions should be written according to the following guideline:
- Abstracts should include 250-300 words, excluding references.
- The abstract submitted for review should be formatted as follows:

- Surname, given name, affiliation, e-mail.
- Title, centred, bold, font Times New Roman 14 pts.
- Main text, justified, font Times New Roman 12 pts, linear interspacing 1.
- Keywords (max. 5), italics, font Times New Roman 12 pts.
- References (APA 7th Edition format)
- The author(s) should assign the paper to one of the specific topics mentioned above and choose individual paper or poster presentation.
- To submit a proposal for the conference, please go to the MAG2021 proposal portal on EasyChair at: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=mag2021
- At your first visit, you will need to register for the conference proposal system, and thereafter you will be able to access the site with your username and password. Individuals can submit more than one proposal but will be limited to two acceptances (1 individual + 1 joint paper)
Presentations are accepted in English. The deadline for the proposal submissions is extended two weeks owing to requests from researchers across the world and the new deadline is 14 February 2021 (Sunday).
All submissions will be reviewed anonymously by the scientific committee and will be evaluated in terms of rigour, clarity and significance of the contribution.

Publication
MAG2021 Committee is happy to announce two post-publication options following our MAG2021 conference in May 2021. We will have two options:
1. We are currently dealing with a well-known publisher for an edited book on Metadiscourse selected from the papers presented at MAG2021. The edited book is planned to be published by the end of 2022.
2. In addition to an edited book, MAG2021 Committe has recently sent a proposal to a presitigious journal indexed by Scopus, Wos and ERIC for a special issue to be published late 2022.
We will have the following dates:
- 31 July 2021: Submission of 1000-word extended abstracts.
- 15 August 2021: The extended abstracts will be evaluated and themed-up for above-mentioned publication plans and authors will be notified.
- 30 November 2021: Submission of full manuscript to be sent out for rigorous review.
- February 2022: Review results will be sent back to authors for potential revisions.
- June 2022: Submission of revised manuscript (There might be a second round of review for some papers).
- September 2022: The edited book and Special issue will be sent for production.
