The LEIC Research 2021 is an international virtual conference that is organized by Vilnius University (Lithuania), Leipzig University (Germany), and the Arqus European University Alliance.
The conference aims to bring researchers, university lecturers, teachers, as well as representatives of educational institutions together:
- to compare experiences and best practice on all aspects of the conference themes,
- to exchange and share their research results,
- provide renewed inspiration for their future research and teaching.
Participants are welcome to use this unique opportunity the conference is going to provide to establish contacts and extend cooperation among scholars, practitioners, and educators from any universities as well as from the universities of the Arqus European University Alliance.
The pandemic has raised challenges for all educational institutions; therefore, the conference will encourage educators to rethink their pedagogical practices, curriculum, and materials development processes, approaches to language teaching in order to bring the most recent research findings into our university classrooms.
The conference invites participants:
- to discuss language teaching in the post-pandemic space,
- to present the most successful ways for language teachers to address the needs of the new generation of students,
- to promote democratic citizenship, social inclusion, and intercultural dialogue in our increasingly multicultural and multilingual classrooms.
CONFERENCE FORMATS
- Plenary presentations (45 minutes)
- Presentations (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion)
- Panel sessions
- Interactive language cafés (separate virtual rooms for each language) — rooms with moderators for participants to discuss issues related to languages, the conference presentations, and to socialize in an informal virtual setting.
- Workshops (45 minutes)
Submission Guidelines
We invite you to submit proposals to take part in one of the following formats:
- Presentations (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion)
- Panel sessions in different languages
- Interactive Language Cafés in different languages (45 minutes)
- Workshops (45 minutes)
Full papers on linguistic, educational, or intercultural research or other conference sub-themes should be submitted by July 30, 2021.
The selected papers could be published:
- in the international multilingual academic journal Verbum (See Information for authors at https://www.journals.vu.lt/verbum/about/submissions )
- in a separate volume of research papers to be published with Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
