klingt gut is an interdisciplinary event at the intersection of art and technology. KLG 2020 will have a special focus on sonic art, sound design, electro-acoustic music, spatial audio and extended / digital realities.
We invite proposals for scientific and artistic works for inclusion in the 2020 edition of klingt gut.
We are seeking papers, audio or audio-visual works, installations, performances.

Submission Guidelines
(1) Categories for scientific proposals are paper, poster or performative lecture (paper with live performance / demo). All proposals must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. All proposals must include abstract, and précis with bibliography / references.
(2) Categories for artistic proposals are fixed media (audio or audio-visual/video work), XR (VR, AR, MR), installation (permanent or temporary), or performance. We encourage (but not request) the submission of original works that have not been staged at other conferences. All proposals must include a work description, work samples / documentation and detailed technical requirements.
Accepted artists and authors are requested to present their work at the symposium in person. Please note that the cost of attendance/performance at klingt gut KLG 2020 must be covered by the participants themselves. KLG 2020 has no funding to cover artist fees, travel, or accommodation. Letters of invitation can be supplied on request if participants wish to source their own funding. However, accepted authors and artists will get free attendance.
As klingt gut is an international event, conference language is English. We kindly request to submit all material in English.
Deadline for submission with title, abstract and précis / work description / work samples and technical requirements is 30 November 15 December 2019. Notifications of acceptance will be sent in January 2020.

Accepted papers, posters and performative lectures are invited for inclusion as full paper or short paper in the klingt gut 2020 Proceedings. The final full paper / short paper submission deadline is 1 May 2020. The proceedings will be available online, open source. It is encouraged that final papers of all scientific presentations are submitted.
List of Topics
Possible topics for scientific contributions include but are not limited to:
- aesthetics and perception of spatial audio and of audio in virtual environments,
- auditory immersion and illusion,
- spatial audio and binaural rendering,
- interactive audio, audio for immersive technologies and VR/AR audio,
- sound design, soundscapes and acousmatic / electro-acoustic music,
- impact of technology on artistic practice.
Possible topics for artistic contributions include but are not limited to:
- sonic art / media art
- music production and sound design for immersive media
- acousmatic music
- live electronics
- experimental video, VR, AR
For the presentation of artistic works, amongst others the following technical setups will be available in different venues:
- loudspeaker dome / multi-channel diffusion / 3D array / HOA system (6th/7th order),
- 8-channel loudspeaker ring,
- large scale headphones playback,
- 4K projection,
- VR and AR spaces.
We encourage specifically the submission of spatial audio works and of works for digital realities (VR/AR).
Young Artist Award
Accepted artistic works submitted by students (undergraduate / graduate / PhD students not older than 30 years; valuation date is December 1, 2019) are eligible for participation in the KLG 2020 Young Artist Award. The works will be assessed on-site by a jury and prizes will be awarded during the event. Participants in the competition must attend the Award Ceremony. Award categories are
