You are warmly invited to submit abstracts (maximum 300 words) to participate in the 2nd Israeli Smart Transportation Students Conference, which will be hosted by the Hebrew University Business School in Jerusalem, on 15 December 2021. The aim of this one-day event is to provide students a platform to share original research among their peers.
The Israeli Smart Transportation Research Center (ISTRC)
The conference is funded by the Israeli Smart Transportation Research Center (ISTRC) at the Technion in collaboration with Bar-Ilan University. The ISTRC was established jointly by the Smart Mobility Initiative in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office and the Council for Higher Education, with the aim of encouraging research and development, entrepreneurship and industry in the field of smart mobility in Israel.
Keynote and roundtable
Prof. Jinhua Zhao from the City and Transportation Planning Department at MIT and Director of the MIT Mobility Initiative will give a keynote on Urban Mobility and Future of Work and a roundtable will discuss Next Generation Transport with start-ups including Waze.
List of Topics
Topics could include any of the following (but not only):
- Economics of smart transport: networks, congestion, games and market structure.
- Policy, Transportation Planning and Smart Cities: Urban planning, public policy, public space allocation, social issues and equity.
- Innovative Transport Services: Mobility as a service, personalized transport, shared transport, mass transit, freight and logistics.
- Big Data and Data Analysis: Data fusion, machine learning, IoT, social media.
- Models and Algorithms: Forecasting, networks, operation research, optimization, economic models.
- Road User Behavior: Travel behavior, demand modeling, behavioral change, incentives, innovative data collection.
- Mobility Safety and Security: automation levels, non-motorized modes.
- Automation and Connectivity: Automated vehicles, V2V, V2I, cyber, sensors, AI.
- Vehicles and Transport Modes: Automated, connected and electric vehicles, advanced propulsion systems, interfaces between vehicles and infrastructure.
- Traffic Management and Control: Traffic flow, safety, effectiveness, mixed traffic in different automation levels.
Monetary prizes will be awarded to the best presentations.
Submission
Submission is open for all students (Bachelor– Post-Doc).
Accepted submissions will be presented at the conference:
- Presenter – only one of the authors
- Language – English or Hebrew
