As the world population continues to grow, much more effort and innovation will be urgently needed in order to sustainably increase food security and food safety, improve the supply chain, create new food products, decrease food losses and waste, and ensure that more people have access to nutritious food.
The sustainable development goal to reach the food security and food safety, improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, recognizes the inter linkages among supporting sustainable agriculture, empowering small farmers, improving gender equality, reducing rural poverty, ensuring healthy lifestyles, solving climate change. Agriculture systems worldwide must become more productive and less wasteful. Sustainable agricultural practices and food systems, including both production and consumption, must be pursued from a holistic and integrated perspective.
The International Symposium on Food Security and Sustainable Development 2017 will provide a platform where local and international researchers, policy makers and industry leaders can exchange ideas, learn from each other, and work towards shaping a sustainable development based on the principles of safety, nutritious food, food security and sustainable agriculture.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
The following paper categories are welcome: Food manufacturers, Food retailers, Food industries and ingredient suppliers, Senior food industry company executives, Technical directors, academics, innovation managers, Product development managers, Quality assurance managers, Food safety managers, Food safety auditors and consultants, Food scientists and technologists
Submission of abstracts
- The abstract is limited to 300 words in English using MS word.
- Letter Font: Times New Roman
- Title of the Abstract: 12 Point (Title Case, Bold)
- Name of the Author(s) with full address, Tel and E-mail: 12 Point. Presenting author must be identified in italics.
- Text: 12 Point, Line spacing: 1.5
Submission of full papers
- Manuscripts should be between 4500 and 8000 words in length (including references, tables and figures). Typed in times new roman 12 font and line spacing 1.5.
- Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
- Author names and affiliations: Each authors full name, and e-mail address of each author.
Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that phone numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Contact details must be kept up to date by the corresponding author. - Introduction: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
- Results: Results should be clear and concise.
- Discussion: This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
- Conclusions: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.
- Appendices: If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, etc. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similarly for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.
