ISCB-Latin America SoIBio BioNetMX International Conference on Bioinformatics 2020 aims to promote scientific and professional exchange in bioinformatics across Latin America, this event is organized by the Bioinformatics Network Mexico (BioNetMX) together with the Iberoamerican Society of Bioinformatics (SoIBio) and the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
New technological developments, such as Next Generation Sequencing, revolutionized biology by providing the capacity of generating high-throughput experimental data. Nevertheless, this also posed the challenge of how to analyze and give biological sense to terabytes of data.
Bioinformatics brings together scientists from different disciplines, such as Biology, Informatics, Genomics, Mathematics, Statistics, Ecology, Medicine, etc, to solve relevant biological questions. This conference will bring together people from these areas (trainees, industry, and scientific leaders), and will provide a forum to showcase major scientific developments. Importantly, this event will help the Bioinformatics community strengthen interactions within Latin America, a region that has shown great potential in the area.
This conference will provide the environment for the interchange of ideas between researchers developing algorithms and researchers with interesting problems that require new algorithms to be developed. Moreover, scientists with no or very little knowledge on informatics will have the opportunity to learn about the new findings in the development of high-end tools for the analysis of their biological data.
This interdisciplinary conference will have a great impact in the scientific community providing an environment to exchange ideas and harness abilities across different areas.
Submission Guidelines
ISCB-Latin America SoIBio BioNetMX International Conference on Bioinformatics 2020 invites abstracts for research that is topical to bioinformatics and computational biology for consideration for oral and/or poster presentation.
Talks and posters will be organized according to scientific topics, which are covered by the conference (see below). Please note, abstracts are not limited to the listed conference topics and if the topic of your submission falls outside the listed ones you can choose the "General Computational Biology" area. Your abstract should convey a scientific result and should not be an advertisement for any commercial software package.
Abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentation on the corresponding session. General Computation Biology abstracts will be accommodated in the closest area for the topic per recommendation of the reviewers.
List of Topics
- Methods applied to Human Genetic studies
- Methods and Algorithms in Computational Molecular Biology
- Bioinformatic strategies and methods to unravel RNA Genomics
- Population dynamics and Evolution in Eukaryotes
- Computational Molecular Biology to Study Evolution in Microorganisms
- Development of Tools and Applications: Usability and Accessibility
- Strategies in Cancer Genomics: From family to population studies
