Introduction
Internet of Things (IoT) has massive potential in the research to transform the current business models and enhance the human lifestyle. The emergence of high speed mobile networks is also a driving force for developing IoT based solutions. With a huge number of things interconnected to each other, the kind of knowledge we can get was never thought off. IoT is proving its potential in various domains discussed above. With the current pace of research, IoT will soon find many new horizons to touch.
Objective
Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of things connected with each through the internet. The term “things" refers to any entity in the real or virtual world. The domain of entities labeled as things constitutes nearly everything like electronic items, household goods, vehicles, living being in the real world, and running a computer process in the virtual world. When an entity is said to be connected, it implies that it can send/ receive data from other entities. When coupled with computing power, the communication mechanism of things creates an entirely new ecosystem of information generating applications. IoT is now providing a base of technological advancement in various realms such as pervasive healthcare, smart homes, smart cities, connected logistics, automated supply-chain, manufacturing units, and many more. IoT is also paving the path for the emergence of the digital revolution in industrial technology, termed Industry 4.0.
