“Lean Design, Design Management with Lean Construction and Digital Technology for Decarbonizing Built Environment”
About ILCC 2023
The Indian Lean Construction Conference – ILCC 2023 is to be held in New Delhi, India from 27th November 2023 to 30th November, 2023. Continuing with the strong legacy of the past successful ILCC Conferences, the 2023 Conference extends the outreach of Lean Construction Principles into the Design Management paradigm. And hence the theme “Lean Design, Design Management with Lean Construction and Digital Technology for Decarbonizing Built Environment”.
The ILCC 2023 aims to lay a foundation for Lean Design Management Sustainability Toolkit as the threshold for Lean Construction outcomes.
The ILCC 2023 introduces the Lean Design Ideation Challenge for Hackathon as a new chapter of innovation and creative application of Lean Principles in Lean Construction including during Design Management Interventions aimed at the 21st-century sustainability and climate change challenges. The event will be hosted by the School of Planning and Architecture-New Delhi. More details about ILCC 2023 can be found at https://www.eventcreate.com/e/ilcc2023-spadelhi
About Lean Ideation Challenge for Hackathon (LIC)
ILCC Conference 2023 invites Students, Academics and Professionals to participate in Lean Ideation Challenge and submit proposals showcasing Lean Design Management interventions that aim at 21st-century Sustainability and Environment Global targets.
The Lean Ideation Challenge aims to engage with students, academics and professionals to prepare them for formal initiation into the Lean Practice in Design and Construction. It is expected that the participants of the Lean Ideation Challenge shall self-educate and think independently about where Lean Practice would be a solution to wastage, and inefficiencies including a cause for the climate crisis and decarbonization as a way forward. Participants would be connected with the technical resources of the current Lean Practicing community.
The three Thematic Tracks, consistent with the theme of the Conference, Lean Design, Design Management with Lean Construction and Digital Technology for Decarbonizing Built Environment are identified as:
- Lean Centric Architecture and Engineering Design as Decarbonisation Strategy
- Lean Integration in Design Decisions and Management
- Application of Digital Technologies for Lean Construction Effectiveness
The select submissions of the Lean Ideation Challenge will be used as a base case(s) for the hands-on Lean Ideation Challenge Hackathon on Nov 27, 2023, under the Three Thematic Tracks mentored by Lean Champions.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following submission categories are welcome:
- Lean Ideation Challenge (LIC) Hackathon
- Full papers
- Posters
A 1500-word extended abstract will be considered for selecting the papers that will be presented at the conference. Abstracts must clearly state the objective of the study, methodology, key results, discussion, implications, and key references. Only those abstracts that obtain the reviewers' acceptance after being reviewed blindly will be selected for presentation at the conference. It is expected that at least one author will attend the conference and deliver the paper if the abstract is accepted. The article must be unique and must not be submitted to a journal or another conference simultaneously. Please note that all of the authors' affiliations (full affiliations without abbreviations) and the contact information for the presenting author should be included in the abstracts. The similarity index for the submitted extended abstract should not be more than 10% excluding references.
