The UNSW Institute for Cyber Security (IFCYBER) inaugural conference, Cyber Security for Society, will be held at the UNSW Kensington, Sydney campus on 8 April 2022. This conference is supported by the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT). The conference website is here.
This multidisciplinary conference will discuss and debate cyber issues relating to engineering and computer science, the arts, social sciences, psychology, business, law, and science. We have invited speakers leading in the field of cyber security across government, industry, and academia.
The core of IEEE SSIT IFCYBER 2022 is Cyber Security for Society.
Submission Guidelines
The IFCYBER 2022 Program Committee welcomes submissions of original work not previously or simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference We welcome:
Full length papers which are between 6 and 8 pages and will receive full peer-review for consideration as part of the IFCYBER 2022 Proceedings. All peer-reviewed papers accepted and presented to the conference will be submitted for publication to IEEEXplore. Full-length papers are expected to present original, cutting-edge research. They should contain detailed and explicit methodology, a comprehensive literature review and explain the work’s novelty and contribution to its respective field. Full-length papers must be submitted through the EasyChair portal as PDFs, following the IEEE conference template. If this is your first-time publishing with IEEE, there is guidance at the IEEE Author Center. Additional author/presenter tips are available from the IEEE here.
Posters which are A1 portrait layout posters that present original research. There is time scheduled at IFCYBER 2022 for attendees to discuss poster presentations with presenters. All posters will be made available on the IFCYBER 2022 website after the conference.
Short presentations should be no longer than one page and they will receive desk review. Authors will be invited to present for three minutes as part of the conference program. Abstracts should provide a summary outlining the proposed presentation’s topic, purpose, argument, and alignment with the conference theme/subtheme(s). Abstracts must be submitted through the EasyChair portal.

Publication
- Paper Evaluation and Publication
Full length papers will be evaluated according to:
- Relevance to the conference core and themes
- Validity (well argued, evidence-based, grounded in theory)
- Significance/originality
- Methodological basis and rigour
- Balance, structure, and clarity
The IFCYBER 2022 proceedings will be submitted for publication through the IEEEXplore database. Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author presents at the conference.
