Call for Special Sessions
The organizing committee of ICSC 2019 is seeking inputs from researchers, academicians, scientists and industry experts from different technical communities to conduct innovative, high quality and potentially interdisciplinary proposals for Special Sessions that should be intended to cover some of the relevant, specialized topics and to raise the visibility in particular scientific or application areas, establish synergies, and explore new opportunities.
If interested, please submit a one-page proposal, no later than 30 November 2018 via email with the subject line “ICSC 2019 Special Session Proposal” to convener@ansaluniversity.edu.in.
Proposers should submit the following information with their submission:
- Special Session title
- Short description of proposed field (one paragraph)
- Novelty and motivation (one to two paragraphs)
- A brief profile of the organizer
- List of contributed papers (titles, name of authors, affiliations and a short abstract)
- The targeted number of papers per session is 5 to 6
Proposals will be evaluated and reviewed on the basis of the novelty of topic and associated impact, as well as the proposed list of contributed papers. Special Session submissions will be reviewed on the similar lines as the submissions to the regular track and papers are expected to meet the same quality standards (Refer http://ansaluniversity.edu.in/school-of-engineering-and-technology/insights/icsc-2019-8th-9th-march)
For Special Sessions that are somewhat undersubscribed (due to paper rejections or limited number of submissions), an effort will be made to identify regular submission papers to complete the session, as deemed appropriate by the conference organizers. If a Special Session is seriously undersubscribed the Special Session may be canceled, in which case the accepted papers from the canceled Special Session will be placed into the regular program.
Important Dates for Special Sessions Proposal:
- Proposal submission: November 30, 2018
- Notification of proposal acceptance: December 15, 2018
Call for Tutorials
The organizing committee of ICSC 2019 solicits proposals for tutorials to provide an opportunity for conference attendees to learn from leaders in the field, explore cutting-edge topics, and acquire new insights, knowledge, and skills. All topics relevant to the conference will be considered. Proposals must provide an in-depth survey of the chosen area with the option of describing some particular pieces of work in detail. A particular attention will be given to proposals that address a rising research area and dedicate a substantial part of the tutorial to open research questions.
If interested, please submit a (up to 4 pages) proposal, no later than 30 November 2018, via email with the subject line “ICSC 2019 TutorialProposal” to convener@ansaluniversity.edu.in
Each Tutorial proposal should describe concisely the content, importance and timeliness of the tutorial. It should contain the following sections:
- Title
- Abstract, describing (in no more than 500 words) the main focus and topics to be addressed.
- Motivation, explaining why the tutorial is appropriate for ICSC 2019.
- Intended Audience, a description of the primary and secondary audiences interested in the tutorial topic, explaining how these audiences can benefit from the tutorial.
- Logistics, describing any requirements for the tutorial room, and any requirements for participants (e.g. prerequisite knowledge).
- Name of each tutorial speaker and, where appropriate, the topics each of them will cover in the tutorial.
- Contact Information of the Instructor, including institutional affiliation(s), address, telephone number, and email address.
- A short CV for each tutorial speaker (no more than 300 words per person), emphasizing the research and teaching experience and/or accomplishments related to the topic of the tutorial.
Tutorial proposals will be assessed based on their relevance to the conference topics, their estimated benefit for prospective participants and their fit within the tutorials program as a whole. Selection factors include: relevance, timeliness, importance, audience appeal, and speaker qualification and experience. Selection is also based on a balance between different topics, expected attendance, and background of the intended audiences
