ICMAR NAV 2023 is the first-ever International Conference on Maritime Autonomy and Remote Navigation organized by the Australian Maritime College and AMC Search. The landmark conference addresses the theme ‘Driving Forward Autonomy in the Maritime Industry’, with the conference program designed to promote discussion about breakthroughs, challenges, and progression of autonomous systems in the maritime industry. Seminal ICMAR NAV 2023 is the new addition to AMC Search’s Winterfest Autonomous Maritime Systems’ trials.
The autonomous and remotely navigated shipping industry is fast evolving. Numerous trials have already been conducted on commercial ships. There are several different concepts and applications for maritime autonomy, which could greatly benefit the industry, ranging from smart bridges to unmanned bridges operated from remote operation centers.
Located at the Australian Maritime College in Launceston, Tasmania, conference attendees have the opportunity to see firsthand the autonomous navigation software in action in our full mission bridge simulators and a technical visit to our Beauty Point campus to see and operate our fleet of uncrewed surface and sub-surface vessels.
To facilitate international participation, the conference will be organized in a hybrid mode. To contact the organizer please email ICMAR.Nav@utas.edu.au
