The 4th International Conference on the Internet, Cyber Security and Information Systems, (ICICIS) conference co-hosted by the University of Johannesburg and the University of Botswana will be held from 31st Oct to 1st Nov 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa. As with the previous last 3 conferences, ICICIS 2019, aims at presenting cutting edge research in Cyber security, Information security, the Internet and new emerging issues in Information Systems. The conference brings together national and international researchers and practitioners. This year’s theme considers how information and cyber security has been shaped by emerging new trends in the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).
Indeed, African businesses seeking growth opportunities need to utilise information to transform, to compete and to win in this emerging global economy. Businesses will therefore need to build core technical capabilities, to develop solutions for their customers, to manage security risks associated with using modern technologies as well as modernize their information and marketing infrastructure towards positioning themselves to be effective at reaching and influencing Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) customers. The ICICIS 2019 conference therefore aims at providing an academic forum for researchers and graduate students who seek to share their latest research findings and to identify future challenges in the broad areas of 4IR influencing the disciplines of marketing, information systems, information and knowledge management and cybersecurity. The conference specifically welcomes papers touching on the theme of business information security and digital transformation in the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution in context of African businesses. Keynotes in the conference will be given by world-class speakers.
