International Conference on Emerging Renewable and Modern Energy
ICERME-2021
Organized by Assam Don Bosco University, India
in Collaboration with Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim Manipal University, India
12-13 February
ONLINE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Growing concerns over climate change and the increasing acceptance of a need for low-carbon development trajectories have provided a renewed emphasis on improving access to renewable energy resources across the globe. Energy is critical, and people with no sustainable access to energy are deprived of the opportunity to become part of national and global progress. Sustainable energy generates opportunity – it transforms lives, economies and the planet. There are tangible health benefits to having access to electricity, and demonstrable improvement in wellbeing. Energy access, therefore, constitutes a core component of the sustainable development agenda for energy. Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7), as set by the UN General Assembly, aims to correct the enormous imbalance by ensuring everyone has access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services by the year 2030. Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) of India, appointed as the leader of the cluster formed by the International Association of Universities for SDG 7, believes in the philosophy of growing together by building a coherent sustainable network of relationships among budding researchers, innovators, industry professionals and the intelligentsia. Hence, to support the above-mentioned global energy agenda, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) of ADBU is organizing an International Conference on Emerging Renewable and Modern Energy (ICERME-2021), in collaboration with Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim Manipal University, India. This conference aims at creating a platform for researchers to discuss efficient, coherent and coordinated ways of developing new and renewable energy resources of the region and providing access to all. The various events planned under this program aims at bringing the industry and academia together to deliberate on various issues related to renewable and sustainable energy development in future. The theme of ICERME-2021 is, therefore “Access to Affordable, Reliable, and Modern energy services to all ”.
