It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 4th International Conference on Energy & Environment: bringing together Engineering and Economics, ICEE, in Guimarães, Portugal, May 16 - 17, 2019. 

The conference is organized by the School of Engineering, University of Minho and the School of Economics and Management, University of Porto.

ICEE brings together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars from the energy and environment science community to interchange knowledge, to discuss and to disseminate new ideas towards a low-carbon, sustainable future. Indeed, energy and environment transition issues require much more than pure technology knowledge. Instead, they involve processes of technological transfer where economics, social sciences, and even politics play decisive roles.

Important dates

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

Submissions of extended abstracts:

Until November 30, 2018.

Abstract acceptance notification:

Until December 20, 2018.

Submissions of full paper (camera ready):

Until February 1, 2019.

Paper acceptance notification:

Until February 28, 2019.

Final paper submission (if revisions required):

Until March 15, 2019.

Early registration:

between September 3, 2018 and March 25, 2019.

Late registration:

between March 26 and May 15, 2019.

Registration deadline for inclusion in Book of Proceedings:

March 30, 2019

• Henrik Lund - Professor in Energy Planning at Aalborg University in Denmark and Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier international journal ENERGY. 

• Reinhard Haas - Professor of Energy Economics at Vienna University of Technology in Austria. Energy Economics Group, Institute of Energy Systems and Electric Drives, Vienna University of Technology.

• Roberto Schaeffer - Professor and researcher in the Energy Planning Program of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and main author of UN Environment Emissions Gap Reports.

• Luc Hens - Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Environment, Development and Sustainability.

Publication

The authors of accepted extended abstracts will then be invited to send the full papers to be included in the Conference Proceedings.

Conference Proceedings will also be submited to Thomson Reuters for indexing in Thomas Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI Web of Science) and/or Scopus-Elsevier.

If accepted for publication, the paper must be presented in the Conference by at least one of the authors in an oral or poster session, depending on the number of papers selected. Each author can present a maximum of two papers.​

The Conference Committee welcomes both empirical and theoretical contributions. The language of the conference and of all the published papers will be English.

 

Selected papers are planned to be published in scientific journals.
