In the light of the unprecedented COVID-19 global pandemic, circular economy has become the need of the hour for the world now. The year 2020 has woken us up to our duties towards the world we live in. This is the theme of our conference. A Circular Economy (CE) is a wonderful system where the value of resources, products, raw materials is maintained for as long as possible and waste is significantly reduced or even eliminated. It is not something that one organization, society, or nation can do alone. The existing linear economy model has not given us desired results and needs to be rethought in terms of its long-term impact. The circular economy model is all about closed loops where we extract the maximum value from the products and materials then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life. The aim is to move towards a cleaner world. A circular economy looks beyond the current take-make-waste model and aims to redefine growth by focusing on positive society-wide benefits. In a circular economy, manufacturers design products to be reusable. For example, electrical devices are designed in such a way that they are easier to repair. Products and raw materials are also reused as much as possible. Through closed-loop supply chains and reversed logistics, new opportunities for business are created. Remanufacturing enables companies to recapture value on a product or component level. The shift from linear to circular is where the transformation has to happen. Transitioning to this kind of circular world is a visionary project for society as a whole, and it's gaining momentum day by day. By working together, we can power the shift to Circular Economy, helping make our planet a more sustainable, healthier, better place to live. Circularity is where the future lies.
The aim of this conference is to identify the areas where industry, policymakers, management, and technology can converge and make this happen.
