Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce that a conference on Research on Social and Affective Factors in Home Language Maintenance and Development (HOLM 2023) will take place in Tallinn (Estonia) on December 14-16, 2023. Like us on Facebook.
Venue: Tallinn University, Estonia.
Meeting description:
This conference is planned as an in-person networking event, where we will hold individual paper sessions in the mornings and work together on developing joint publications, research projects and grant proposals in the afternoons. A special session is planned as a workshop for PhD candidates in the afternoon on the last day (see below).
The main aim of this conference is to bring together scholars working on the most intriguing aspects of home language research, including but not limited to multilingualism, family language policy, digital literacies, digital practices, translanguaging, bilingual families and bilingual socialisation, bilingual families and media, education and home language development, bilingual education, multilingual special education, and teachers’ and parents’ attitudes on home language maintenance and development.
Call for papers:
We welcome papers presenting cross-national and cross-cultural comparisons in any of the areas mentioned above. The conference also invites methodological discussions of research related to home language maintenance and development. We encourage educators, practitioners, and speech pathologists to join the conference. On Saturday afternoon a PhD session will be organised where young researchers will have an opportunity to give presentations on the topic of their PhD theses and receive feedback from established scholars.
