Established in February 1996, the Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies (HKSTS) aims to foster excellence in transportation research and practice, stimulate professional interchange in transportation, and provide a forum for exchanging ideas on transportation developments.
The theme of the 25th Anniversary HKSTS Conference is "Sustainable Mobility", which aims to address the key challenge and explore new trends of improving the sustainability of transport systems in our societies. Clearly, the booming demand for urban mobility is leading to a significant increase of all transport modes. Yet, the conventional approach of expanding our road and railway infrastructure seems no longer an adequate and sustainable solution. Innovative and environmentally friendly transport systems will have to be developed to meet the increasing demand for mobility while preserving the environment.
Practitioners and academics are cordially invited to share their knowledge, experience and insights on developing innovative solutions for solving transport related problems and challenges in the development of Smart Cities. The technical program includes plenary sessions, paper presentations and interactive sessions.
