The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) is pleased to announce the Call for Submissions for the HFESA 2021 Conference.
This year the conference will be entirely virtual and explore the theme of Human Factors in our Changing World.
We live in a world marked by massive global changes, moving us rapidly into rather unprecedented and unknown directions. It has never been so vital for us to understand the interactions among humans and other system elements. This necessitates the creation and adoption of theories, principles, data, and methods of design, as well as new capabilities, technologies, skills, procedures, policies, strategies to find new ways of engaging with a rapidly changing world and optimise wellbeing and performance.
As practitioners and scientists, we must deal with a spectrum of challenges and opportunities, and the field of human factors and ergonomics (HFE) is, and will continue to be, a key enabler in navigating the changing landscape.
Please join us online on 8-9 November 2021, contribute to the debate and growth of HFE, and engage with the HFE community within Australia and internationally.
We welcome contributions that advance the theory or practice of any of the following topics or any other relevant HFE aspect:
- Digitalisation and Automation of Work
- Human-Machine Interaction
- Organisational Design and Management
- Ergonomic Interventions
- Cognitive Ergonomics
- Visual Ergonomics
- Risk Analysis and Management
- Psychosocial Work Environment
- Service Work and Service Systems
- Occupational Health
Submissions
You can submit your proposal online via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hfesa2021
Your proposal must indicate one of the following formats during submission:
- Scientific presentation, based on findings from original research
- Virtual Poster/Short communication, based on preliminary work and/or abbreviated results
- Workshop with the engagement of participants in online discussion/activities
- Practitioner report of a completed case/application
Submission Process
Submissions will be in the form of an abstract summarising your contribution in no more than 500 words. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and selected based on their quality, relevance to the conference theme, and the overall number and formats of the proposals to be received, along with the diversity of subjects. Scientific presentation abstracts should be written according to the typical structure (Background/problem/opportunity, Aim/objectives, Methods, Findings and Conclusions/Impact). Practitioner reports need to tell a compelling story about what, why, who and how reflective of a case study.
