HFEMC2023: HFEM Conference 2023 Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi Langkawi Island, Malaysia, August 14-18, 2023

Human Factors & Ergonomics Conference (HFEMC) is a biennial event organized by Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Malaysia (HFEM) with the aim of inviting experts to share their experience and knowledge, expertise, skills, ideas, discuss current challenges and concerns related to HFE and, as a one-stop centre – bringing together the experts and practitioners from various disciplines.

The conference theme for HFEMC 2023 is “Accelerating human factors and ergonomics toward an inclusive and sustainable future,” with the goal of meeting the socio-technical challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and beyond. We will focus on key HFE theories, methods, designs, studies and technical advances that aim to understand and promote inclusion and diversity in HFE applications, as well as to forecast and impact sociotechnical systems of the new industrial revolution.

We encourage the RAGI (Rakyat/People, Academia, Government, Industry) community to consider ways to make the field more inclusive for those who may not feel included, as well as to encourage inclusion within our research methods and practices.

It is the mission of this community to embrace and accelerate change as the cornerstone of future development. Despite decades of work in this area, the HFE field is still in its infancy in the ASEAN and developing region. Many application domains remain to be explored, including agriculture, healthcare, human-computer interaction, manufacturing, product and systems design, transportation, and ageing.

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:

Publication

HFEMC2023 proceedings will be published as book volume by Springer. 
The papers will be indexed in Scopus, Ei-Compendex and Web of Science.
(Scopus and Compendex indexing usually takes 3-4 months since publication date, WoS approx. 15 months).

The conference will be held in Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi.
