Aim
KES-HCIS-24 is an international scientific symposium for research in the fields of human center intelligent systems. The aim of the conference is to provide an internationally respected forum for scientific research in the technologies and applications of human center intelligent systems.
Human-centered intelligent systems (HCIS) are information systems applying artificial intelligence in order to support humans and to interact with people. At the forefront of the human-centered intelligent systems, assistant systems have emerged as prime examples. These systems, such as voice-oriented platforms like Alexa and Siri, as well as text-oriented platforms like ChatGPT and Bard, have revolutionized the way we interact with technology. They have proven to be invaluable tools, capable of handling complex tasks without demanding specialized domain expertise, drawing significant attention due to the remarkable strides in generative artificial intelligence.
However, the true essence of human-centered intelligent systems goes beyond mere convenience and utility. The human element plays a pivotal role in various aspects of these systems. From optimizing knowledge representations and developing algorithms to collecting and labeling data and deciding what to model in the first place, humans are indispensable in shaping and guiding the capabilities of intelligent systems.
