About Book
Biomaterials play a critical role in technologies intended to deliver therapeutic agents in clinical settings. Recent explosion of our understanding of how gene therapy utilize biomaterials has garnered excitement to develop a range of older and emerging nucleic acid agents for therapy of a wide range of diseases. Increasingly, tissue engineering strategies such as the use of biomaterial scaffolds augmented with specific biological cues are being investigated to accelerate the regenerative process. In this book, We will discuss about a key biomaterial integrated gene therapy and discuss how biomaterials can assist in gene therapy with improved and optimized properties. We will also summarize commonly used tissue engineering techniques for the study of gene therapy. Proposed book will focus on gene therapy for several major categories of tissue engineering, including nanomedicine and nanotechnology, polymer-, peptide-, nucleic acid-based gene therapy, and viral biology.
