Explain what GCSISD-2027
About the Conference:
The Global Conference on Social Inclusion and Sustainable Development: Advancing Equity, Justice and Resilience provides an international platform for scholars, policymakers, practitioners, civil society organisations, development professionals, educators and community representatives to deliberate on the social dimensions of sustainable development.
The conference recognizes that sustainable development cannot be achieved without addressing exclusion, inequality, discrimination, poverty, displacement and unequal access to opportunities and resources. It seeks to connect global scholarship with local experiences and policy practice, with particular attention to communities that remain structurally disadvantaged.
Conference Rationale:
The contemporary world faces interconnected challenges: widening socio-economic inequalities, climate change, forced displacement, technological transformation, demographic change, conflict and uneven access to education, health, livelihoods and social protection. These challenges have differentiated impacts across social groups and regions.
Social inclusion therefore needs to be understood not merely as participation in existing institutions, but as a broader process of ensuring dignity, voice, equal opportunity, recognition, representation and meaningful access to social, economic, political and environmental resources. The conference will explore how law, public policy, institutions, markets, technology and community action can contribute to inclusive and sustainable futures.
Conference Objectives:
1. Examine emerging global and local dimensions of social exclusion and inequality.
2. Explore theoretical, empirical and interdisciplinary approaches to social inclusion.
3. Analyse the relationship between social justice, human rights and sustainable development.
4. Assess policies and institutional mechanisms for inclusive development.
5. Highlight experiences of marginalised, vulnerable and historically excluded communities.
Promote dialogue among academia, government, civil society and development practitioners
