FOSS4G-Europe call for Abstracts
The FOSS4G-Europe conference calls on the community to submit abstracts for presentations on the latest and greatest in the world of open source software for geosptial.
General Track
The general track corresponds to regular conference presentations of 20 minutes plus questions. This track is open to any technical or non-technical subject with relevance to FOSS4G and its community of developers, users and scientists. Track topics include, but are not restricted to:
- FOSS4G business models and case studies
- Mapping
- Open Data
- Interoperability
- INSPIRE
- Earth Observation
- Spatial Data Infrastructures
- FOSS4G in the local or central administration
Academic Track
Following an established tradition, FOSS4G-Europe organizes an academic track which will run as a single-track over the conference days. FOSS4G-Europe invites original research contributions on all aspects of open-source geo software and its application. Submissions focusing on INSPIRE, Big Data and Societal Challenges are particularly encouraged. All types of articles are welcome, such as on results achieved, case studies, work in progress, and demos. We discourage, however, mere presentations of technology or use cases without properly justifying originality against the scientific state of the art and without particular novelty.
The submission is in form of an extended abstract containing between 800 and 1 000 words. A blind review process will select submissions based on their merits in scientific novelty, relation to the state of the art and overall significace to the FOSS4G community. Upon selection, authors will recieve suggestions for improvement and are then invited to submit a full article of up to 8 pages adhering to a template to be provided.
