The 4th EURO HOpe mini-Conference of EURO Working Group on Humanitarian Logistics will take place from September 5th-6th 2019 in Kristiansand, Norway. The conference is hosted by the Centre for Integrated Emergency Management (ciem.uia.no) at the University of Agder.
Humanitarian Operations Research studies decision-making problems related to providing logistical assistance for humanitarian purposes, and in response to humanitarian crises. The primary objective of humanitarian operations is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity. The purpose of this mini-Conference is to provide an inspiring platform that facilitates discussion and interaction among the academics, practitioners and policy-makers.
Conference Theme
The main theme for EURO HOpe mini-Conference 2019 is Enabling Technologies in Humanitarian Supply Chains. We welcome submissions from researchers and practitioners focusing on the technologies, OR methods, models, simulations and tools that can be used to improve humanitarian response in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Contributions on the broad topics of humanitarian supply chains including refugees, health, conflicts, natural disasters, ... as well as creative and critical reflections are welcome.
Submission Guidelines
Authors, who would like to present their work at the conference, are invited to submit a 250-word abstract for consideration by the scientific committee. This can include both completed work and ongoing research. Presentations of results from empirical work and “Insights from the Field” are highly desirable.
Abstracts should be structured to include the following:
- Title of paper
- Authors (including affiliation and email)
- Abstract
- Keywords (maximum 5)
Abstracts must be submitted online at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eurohope2019 and received by June 1st 2019 June 20th 2019, 23:59 Oslo Time.
When you access the EasyChair site, you will need to log-in (or register, if you do not have an account). Once logged in, please follow the on-screen prompts, and click on the “New Submission” tab to start the process. Make sure to provide all the required information during the submission.
All authors will be informed by June 30th 2019 whether their research has been accepted for presentation at the conference. The email will consist of information for presentation preparation. For accepted abstracts, at least one of the authors need to attend the conference.
