The 5th ETLTC International Conference on ICT Integration in Technical Education (ETLTC2023) is to be hosted at the University of Aizu in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, from January 24-27, 2023.

Welcome to the 2023 5th International Conference on Information & Communications Technology in Science and Engineering Education (ETLTC2023) to be hosted at the University of Aizu in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, from January 24-27, 2023.
The event will be hosted and partially funded by THE UNIVERSITY OF AIZU, and sponsored by the ETLTC and the ACM Chapter on Elearning and Technical Communication.
Information Communications Technology (ICT) has an important role to play in science and technology teaching. Rapid developments in hardware and software technology mean that a great deal is now possible, yet there remains a considerable gap between the aspirations of experts and the realities of the classroom. ICT can provide access to a huge range of resources that are of high quality and relevant to scientific learning. ICT also allows teachers with different teaching styles to modify materials and the way they are used in different and effective ways. ICT can improve the quality of data available to students.
This international conference will focus on how educational technology and human life cannot be separated and society has a cyclical co-dependence. ICT impacts the environment, people, and society as a whole. This forum will aim to explore how new advanced technology has impacted our lives and how it will impact the future of education, science, and technology education, including technical communication and our society, in general.
ICT integration is defined as the use of ICT to introduce, reinforce, supplement and extend skills (Pisapia, 1994). ICT integration has been attracting a great deal of interest among researchers in professional development communities and human-computer interaction circles.
This international conference will thus aim to provide a rich discussion of emerging information and communications technology (ICT) -led innovations in the academic fields of artificial intelligence, technical communication, machine learning, analytics, and computer vision.
Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
Paper Length for Online Proceedings:
- Full Papers (6-12 pages with 5000-7000 words approx.) – These include mainly accomplished research results.
- Short Papers (4-5 pages with 2500 - 4000 pages approx.) – These are mostly work in progress reports or fresh developments.
Notes:
- Conference presentations will be generally 20 minutes in length (including Q&A) and will be part of a session with other papers on a similar theme.

- A Research Paper should be complete with an introduction, data, analysis of data, discussion, and implications.
- A Tutorial should clearly explain how software or a product (e.g., educational technology) could be used towards certain specific goals.
- Teaching Experience papers should clearly highlight the course module, how it's designed, the pedagogical strategies, classroom experience (with some data), and implications for teaching.
- The Project Experience papers should clearly highlight how the project was conceptualized, reasons for using the approach, people and resources involved, what was aimed and achieved, the learning that happened, and its overall implications.
- The Software/Hardware Review papers should clearly explain the purpose of the software/hardware, the domain of application, the design of the interface, how users are expected to use it, how it's actually used, the learning that happens, the user experience and the reliability and trustworthiness of the product in the market, and/or in the specific community of users.
- The teaching or research Position papers should explain the idea behind an approach, whether such use or application is valid and reasonable, what are the theories backing such application, or any contrary theoretical evidence to suggest the failure of such research approach, or pedagogical strategy.

Publication
ETLTC2023 proceedings will be published in the online conference volume with open access, SCOPUS indexed, and DOI.

Venue
The conference will be held in the picturesque city of Aizuwakamatsu, at the University of Aizu campus - a valley surrounded by the snow-clad mountains of Mt. Bandai.
