Post-Covid State: disruption, instability and prospects
The Covid19 pandemic has concurred in worsening health, social and economic conditions in all countries worldwide. It is clear that the degree of development and the wealth of some countries are no longer a condition for success or failure in fighting such large scale crisis. No one can deny that the strategy of facing this shock needs to be revised on all levels and especially with new modes of state interventions. There is no doubt that this pandemic has put multidisciplinary approaches of governance and decision-making in the heart of all the processus in order to pave the way to a socially and economically responsible recovery.
Furthermore, it has demonstrated that political and economic links between countries are fragile and, thus, we are currently witnessing an emerging new configuration of global geopolitical alliances. One of the major consequences of the current crisis is the deepening of the use of digital technologies in all life and working processes and procedures. Indeed, the digital and massive use of new technologies and medias offered prompt responses to thwart the shutdown of economic and social systems. This digital transformation offers new opportunities in terms of valuable information flows, readily available at finer levels of detail and granularity. The rise of these new technologies interests the lawyer, the economist, and other scholars concerning several legal, institutional, regulatory and economic issues.
