Naples is one of the most ancient cities in Europe, whose contemporary urban fabric preserves the elements of its long and eventful history. Its lively street pattern, its wealth of historic buildings and its setting on the Bay of Naples give to the city an incomparable universal value that has profoundly influenced many parts of Europe and beyond.
The University of Naples Federico II is the world’s oldest state University and one of the oldest academic institutions in continuous operation. It was founded in Naples, Italy in 1224 by the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Frederick II. The University is the most ancient state-supported institution of higher education and research in the world.
With this in mind, ECDA 2020 payed special emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the interaction of theory and practice. The scientific programme of the conference included sessions with invited talks and contributed presentations covering a broad range of topics.
