Submissions
We seek contributions on all topics in treatment and assessment of low level brain injury and call for the submission of abstracts. Research reports and/or case studies will be reviewed for relevance to Disorders of Consciousness or low level brain injury. Assessment categories for submissions include:
• Relevance to Disorders of Consciousness
• Adds to existing knowledge or is an innovative/cutting edge topic
• Contributes to the major content areas of the conference
• Promotes interdisciplinary approaches
Accepted abstracts will be invited to present as a Poster Presentation. At least one author of the submission must register and attend the symposium in order to upload a final paper. Authors must register before April 1, 2020, otherwise, the abstract will be excluded from conference program.

Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts should be submitted via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=doc2020 by the deadlines specified above. All poster abstracts must be submitted online.
- Designated Committee members will review abstracts submitted. Submitters are expected to ensure all information is correct at the time of submission, contact co-presenters to ensure the accuracy of this information before finalizing your submission. Posters are selected on the basis of the abstract submitted.
- The poster should be an expansion of, not a departure from, the content of the abstract. Poster Abstracts are intended to represent scientific research or non-commercial content related to clinical practice; advertisements are not acceptable.
Selection Process
- The Symposium’s Scientific Committee reviewing your submissions. Each submission is considered based on its own merit, not in comparison to other submissions.
- A minimum of 4 reviewers will be assigned to each submission. Only reviewers who have demonstrated competency in research will review research-related proposals.
Poster Acceptance
- Once offered the opportunity to present at the conference by the Scientific Committee, you will confirm your acceptance to continuingeducationregistration@memorialhermann.org.
- Please include: 1) Poster Presentation Title and 2) Poster Presenter / Primary Author in Attendance
- Poster Presenters MUST register for the Conference.
Poster Guidelines
- Posters should be printed considering the recommended poster size: 70 (width) x 90 (height) cm.
- Authors are free to create their own poster design, there are no particular style requirements.
- Educational materials that are part of this activity cannot contain any advertising, trade names, or product-group messages.
- REQUIRED ELEMENTS:
- Include the title, name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), and the name and location of the institution or facility at which the work was performed
- Use charts, graphs, diagrams, or photographs
- Minimize words
- Keep it organized and match the presentation to the flow of the poster
- Place your most significant findings at eye level
- Print size should allow the poster to be read from a distance of six (6) feet
- Use color and keep it visually stimulating
- Avoid reflective, plastic-coated paper
- Provide information on all topics included in the abstract
- NO advertisement of service or product may be advertised
- Any perceived or real conflicts of interests should be clearly disclosed
Poster Set Up/Break Down
- Set Up date/time: May 19 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Break Down date/time: May 22 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
- Poster presenters are responsible for printing and bringing their poster based on the guidelines provided above.
- Push-pins and bulletin boards will be provided for displaying posters
- Electrical outlets and audiovisual equipment may not available in the poster area.
