DigiLab4U - Online-labs in education
Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, Germany
10.-11.3.2022
The focus of the conference is on online (remote, virtual, hybrid, augmented) lab education, in particular labs related to teaching in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). The core-part is influenced by the BMBF-funded project DigiLab4U (see www.digilab4u.com). Technical, didactical and organisational aspects of online labs will be addressed. We welcome and invite scientific papers, lecture chapters and demonstrators on related topics such as:
- Online (remote, virtual, hybrid, or augmented) labs in education: applications, experiences and evaluations
- Usage of VR/AR in lab-based scenarios
- The role of labs in IoT-focussed lectures
- Didactical evaluations
- Automation of labs
- Organisational aspects (trust, booking, billing, concurrent usage, …)
- Business models and architectures on lab networks
- Virtualisation of labs
Submission Opportunities:
- Scientific papers (8-10 pages) - published in print and online (open access)
- Education chapters on lab-based topics related to the Internet of Things (8-25 pages) – these papers should be divided into two parts:
- Part I: 2-4 pages on education considerations (see instructions/template) - this part will be published in print and online (open access)
- Part II: the lecture chapter itself - this part will only be published online (open access)
- Interactive demonstrations showing a remote lab including an extended abstract (2-4 pages)
Scientific contributions, educational chapters and demo abstracts have to be submitted in English. The DigiLab4U conference will follow a two-step review process. Based on extended abstract submissions (2 pages), authors will be invited to submit complete papers. Submission of scientific papers (type 1) will go through a double-blind review process. Submission of educational papers (part 2) will go through a double-peer review process.
