The symposium aims to provide an outstanding opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students to address their scientific findings based on vigorous research performed as part of the elective project and thesis writing, respectively. It also provides a platform for the discussions between national and international participants on new discoveries to improve the field of Dentistry.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
All abstracts must be original and not simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. The following categories are welcome (but not limited to):

Abstracts will be blind-reviewed by at least two members of the Symposium Committee.
For inclusion in the proceedings, an author must attend and present at the conference (as oral or e-poster presenter).
All authors who wish to submit their abstract MUST register as DSSS 2020 participants.
Abstracts of unregistered conference authors will be automatically withdrawn and not reviewed by DSSS 2020 Scientific Committee.

PLEASE NOTE:
- There is no limit to the number of authors per abstract; the presenting author should ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of abstract before submission to the organizers.
- Authors whose abstracts are selected will be requested to attend the conference and make the presentation in person for oral presentation.
- Submission of abstract constitutes the authors' consent for printed and online publication by the organizers. Also, warrants that the abstract submitter is the sole owner and responsible of all information and content provided to the organizing committee.

Full Report Submission Guidelines (for UiTM Undergraduate Students only)
DSSS 2020 invites authors to submit unpublished scientific research reports for oral presentation. Authors should submit their reports online via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dsss2020). All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not submitted concurrently for publication elsewhere. The reports must be written in strict accordance with the format provided and subject to both review and editing.
GUIDE TO AUTHORS
- Reports submitted must strictly follow the ERP Guidelines 2020. All papers must be written in English (maximum of 5 pages) and submitted in MS Word (.doc or .docx) for both the review process and final manuscript submission.
- The author is responsible to ensure that the manuscript sent for review is free from plagiarism.
- All scientific reports must be presented at DSSS 2020 by the authors.
- By submitting a scientific report to DSSS 2020, the author guarantees that it has not been previously published (or accepted for publication) in substantially similar form. Furthermore, no paper that contains significant overlap with the contributions of this paper either has been or will be submitted during the DSSS 2020 review period to any other journal or conference.
REPORT REVIEWING PROCESS
- Scientific reports submitted will be pre-screened for conformity with submission guidelines and for overall appropriateness. Reports that pass the initial screening process will then be double-blind reviewed.
- The double-blind peer review process is employed to ensure that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process. Expert specialists will be selected to perform the reviews.
- The report peer review process and the outcomes presented in the review reports will be monitored and verified by the Scientific Committee.
Abstract Formatting Guidelines
- Abstract must be submitted in English, in Word file, font Arial, size 10 with single line spacing.
- Maximum title limit: 100 characters
- Maximum word limit: 300
- Abstracts accepted in English only
- For original research, abstract is one paragraph contains: Introduction, Method, Result and Conclusion, No tables and figures are allowed, No references

Oral Presentation Guidelines
- 10 minutes of oral presentation; 5 minutes of Q&A session
- When preparing your Powerpoint slides we ask you to consider the following guidance:

Setting presentation: Put a short presentation of your work to a broad group of audience from various backgrounds in dentistry

We suggest using font size of 16 pt or above to allow you to provide more textual detail than you would normally provide with a traditional oral presentation.

Use Microsoft Powerpoint and save as a PPT or PPTX file format.

The first slide should provide the title, authors and affiliations and an email contact address.

- Be sure to bring your presentation on a USB flashdrive, CD, DVD or any memory disk. The use of personal laptops is not allowed.
- Material for presentation will be uploaded in the Speakers' Ready Room, at least 4 hours before the presentation.
- We encourage you to check your presentation in the room well in advance.
Poster Presentation Guidelines
- 10 minutes of poster presentation; 5 minutes of Q&A session
- Poster Board will be used vertically.
- Poster size should not exceed 120 cm (height) and 80 cm (width), preferably A0 size.
- Title and author(s) must be included on Top of the poster, all should be at least 10 cm high.
- Briefly describe procedures and materials. Define all trade names first then use generic names throughout. All compounds and drugs must be identified.
- Figures should be designed to be viewed from a distance of 2 meters and should use clear, visible graphics and large type.
- Prepare all illustrations neatly and legibly beforehand in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 2 meters.
- A series of typewritten sheets attached to the poster board is not an acceptable poster.
- Please do not write or paint on the poster board.
- Please bring your own aerotape to hang your poster.
