We are organizing the 6th International conference on Dynamics of Disasters (DOD 2023) to be held July 3—6, 2023 in Athens, Greece. For more information about the conference and the venue, please visit the conference website at http://caopt.com/DOD2023/.
The last five years have had us realize the long-lasting impacts that disasters have in our societal welfare. The impacts of wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes are increasing in intensity even in areas that were historically "spared" from natural hazards before. The interdependencies of our built environment and our societal structures with the occurring disasters have rendered the study of the dynamics of disasters an even more important subject. Like we have done in the past, the DOD series of conferences aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers to discuss and advance this interdisciplinary array of topics. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) optimization, computing, mathematical and statistical modeling, data analytics, emergency and disaster management, among others.
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract and/or paper to the conference with a deadline of May 15, 2023. We would also like to encourage you to promote the event to other interested colleagues, students, and collaborators to participate and submit their work for presentation to the conference. We will announce a special issue at Operations Research Forum for a subset of the highest quality presentations and works in due time. To submit your contributing paper, an EasyChair page will be soon announced.
