OVER 1,600 PAPERS PUBLISHED

DMD 2025 is accepting original papers that demonstrate new technologies and applications in the field of medical device design. Submissions from academic and industry researchers, clinicians and practitioners is encouraged.

Accepted papers are required to be presented in one of the exciting Advances Sessions or the Scientific Poster Sessions during the 2025 DMD Conference. Additionally, the top papers describing medical device designs with a potential for commercialization, will be invited for participation in the Five-Minute Pitch Competition.

All accepted papers will be published in the 2025 Proceedings of the Design of Medical Devices Conference in the ASME Digital Collection. Authors of papers deemed of high quality will be invited to expand their papers for fast-track review towards publication in the ASME Journal of Medical Devices. 

DMD registration and presentation of the paper during DMD is required for publication.

Submission & Presentation Info

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

Draft Papers

• Deadline to submit is Dec. 23, 2024
• 2-6 pages, including references
• Download the Required Template and Follow ASME formating

Reviews will be completed and author notifications will happen by Feb. 3, 2025.

Final Papers & Copyright Forms

• Instructions will be emailed to the contact authors identified during your draft submission process
• Due March 7, 2025

In-Person Presentations

• April 29 and/or 30, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN
• Poster Session, Podium Sessions and/or Five-Minute Pitch (5MP) Competition
  • Specifics for each presentation type will be provided after reviews are complete
