Conference Aim: The Digital Education Conference brings educators, researchers and industry together to share and discover innovative uses of technology in an ever-changing teaching and learning environment. This conference will stimulate dialogue and debate in our education landscape as we emerge from turbulent times of COVID-19 and navigate through the emergent developments of ChatGPT, to illuminate the transformative opportunities of education in our society. This event provides an opportunity to present your research or practice related projects, extending your network and dive into new collaborative ideation with practical and theoretical contributions.
The conference will take place over two days, with Day 1 providing attendees with a deep dive into Digital Education - Pedagogy and Research such as Teaching and learning online, Instructional design, Inclusive digital education, Generative AI in assessment and content development, Leading digital education and much more. With expected debate and dialogue around emerging technology it is inevitable that Day 2 will stimulate discussion on Digital Education opportunities, challenges and the potential long-term implications of Generative AI for education, research and industry.

Target Audience
Included but not limited to Lecturers, researchers and teachers in higher and further education, research postgraduate students, instructional designers, educational developers, industry experts, learning and development professionals, and others interested in digital education.
Submission Guidelines
All research must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another conference. We will outline a proposed pathway to journal publication in the coming weeks. The following paper categories are welcome:
DEC23 invites interested parties to submit a 300-word abstract (PDF format)
Each abstract is required to address one or more of the conference sub themes.
Please indicate type of abstract when submitting:
- Research: Presentation of original findings and how they offer, inform or link to existing research.
- Practice: Details of new and innovative digital educational programmes or activities.
- Policy: New related digital education related policy or initiatives.
- Poster: Presentation of ongoing research or practice in Digital Education. DEC23 posters should be submitted directly to the conference email address.
- GASTA: Presentations to be included in the GASTA (5 minute lightening talks) should be submitted directly to the conference email address.
Each abstract should address the following
- Title
- Background
- Rationale
- Design (optional)
- Evaluation/Findings (optional)
- ConclusionR
Review Process – All submitted abstracts will go through a peer-review process.
