Culture conference 2022 (10-11th November) provides an interdisciplinary forum to discuss ideas, theories, and data concerned with the question(s) regarding culture and cultural evolution in human and non-human animal species, and the role that cooperation plays within that.
Submission Guidelines
We call for submissions of abstracts of no more than 300 words, summarising the background, aims, methods and results of your work. Abstracts may also include a single figure of any kind, but this is not required. Citations may be included, but are not required. Abstractss should be submitted via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/cfp/CultConf22 by June 30th 2022.
Priority will be given to abstracts that relate to the theme of this year’s event “The role of cooperation in culture and cultural transmission”, which we are interpreting very broadly. We welcome submissions from any discipline that is interested in the study of culture, from language science and animal communication, through anthropology, to biology.
There will be three formats for presentations at the conference. You may choose which you feel is best suited to the work you wish to present, although depending on the volume of submissions we may not be able to offer your preferred choice.
- Oral presentations (Up to 15 mins) - followed by 5 min of Q&A
- Lightning talks (Up to 7 mins)
- Poster presentations: An on-site poster session will take place where attendees will be able to freely visit and discuss the posters on display. Posters will also be made available online, but there will not be an equivalent online event.
Oral presentations and lightning talks can be carried out in-person or remotely, whereas the poster-session will only take place on-site (although posters will be available online). Note that lightning talk presenters who wish to present remotely will have to submit their talk as a recording to prevent technical issues interfering with the schedule. Oral presentations may also be submitted as recordings if preferred.
Below your abstract, please indicate which format you would like your abstract to be considered for.
The deadline for all submissions is June 30th. We will aim to send out decision emails by August 12th.
