The CentralCHRIE Federation is excited to announce that the 2022 CentralCHRIE Conference will be jointly held with the Spirit of Hospitality Summit at Purdue University on September 29th and 30th and registration is free for all CentralCHRIE members.
The CentralCHRIE Conference is accepting only poster submissions this year. We would like to invite educators, industry professionals, graduate students, and undergraduate students to submit proposals on research topics, industry issues, or education practices. The submissions will be reviewed in three tracks: undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty & industry. Best Posters will be awarded for each track.
SUBMISSION CLOSING DATE: September 4th, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. CST
Call for Papers
1. Participants may submit either of the following:
• Abstract (1,500 words maximum): Full paper or Work-in-progress paper
2. Acceptance notification will be sent to authors no later September 12th, 2022.
3. Submission topics include but not limited to: Best teaching practices, Best industry practices, Current industry issues, Consumer behavior, Destination marketing, Business analytics, Human resources & leadership, IT application, Hospitality operations/management, Meetings & events, and Sustainability.
4. Papers and symposia are to be submitted online via the following EasyChair link:

Submission Guidelines
1. A title page including title, author name(s), and affiliation. Author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included in any part of the main document.
2. Submissions must be original and should not be published or under review for publication elsewhere.
3. Submissions must be saved in a PDF document and uploaded to the EasyChair system.
4. Once the submission is accepted, at least one author must register and present at the conference.
5. Authors will retain full copyright to their work.
6. Undergraduate research needs to indicate the names of the supervising professor(s).
7. Best paper awards will be selected by the Conference Poster Review Committee for each track based on outstanding merits.
Abstract Formatting Guidelines
Abstract:
1. Word counts: 1,500 words max in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references.
2. Margins should be 1-inch on all sides.
3. Font: Times Roman, 12 pt.
4. All text will be double spaced.
5. Tables, figures, and references must not exceed two (2) pages in total.
6. Citations and the reference list should follow the APA style.
Accepted Poster:
1. The poster session is on the second day of the conference in junction with the breakfast.
2. The poster should be printed as 3’(tall) x 4’(wide).
3. Research posters should include the following sections: Study Objectives and Justification, Theoretical Background/Hypotheses, Methodology (including sample, key variables, statistical procedures), Analysis results or Expected Findings, Unique Contribution, Key References. Best teaching/industry practice posters could adjust the section titles based on the nature of the topic.

Best Paper Evaluation Criteria
• Does the proposal include clearly stated objective(s)?
• What is the relevance and significance of the proposal to our fields? Justification for the study.
• Does the proposal contribute to conceptual understanding or industry, research or teaching practices?
• Is there demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter through relevant literature or conceptual review?
• Does the proposal follow the recommended submission guidelines?
Important Dates
1. August 8th, 2022 – Easy chair online submission opens
2. September 4th, 2022 – All submission closes at 11:59 p.m. CST.
3. September 12th, 2022 – Notification to authors of accepted proposals
4. September 19th, 2022 – Final revision due
