2021 CentralCHRIE Conference (Virtual) will be held on October 22 (Friday).
The 2021 CentralCHRIE Conference will have refereed research presentations, symposiums, and panel sessions presentations. Expert sessions as ‘Key Note’ addresses by hospitality and tourism industry professionals and networking opportunities with educators and industry practitioners will be offered.
CentralCHRIE invites educators, industry professionals, and graduate students to submit proposals for presentations and attend the onference.
SUBMISSION CLOSING DATE: September 19, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. CST
- Participants may submit either of the following:
- Research Paper (1500 words maximum): Full paper or Work-in-progress paper acceptable
- Symposium (1,000 words maximum)
- Panel Discussion (1,000 words maximum)
- Submission topics include: Consumer Behavior in Hospitality and Tourism, Destination Marketing, Education, Business Analytics, Human Resources & Leadership, IT Adoption & Application, Lodging Management & Service Quality, Meetings & Events, Restaurant & Food Service, and Sustainability.
- Papers and symposia are to be submitted online via the following EasyChair link: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=centralchrie2021
- All panel discussions are to be submitted via email attachment sent to kimseun8@msu.edu
- Presentation formats will be announced later.
Research Paper - Submission Guidelines
- Page 1: Title and 100-word abstract. Author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included in any part of the paper.
- Remaining pages: 1,500 words max in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references.
- Participants are required to save a research paper in PDF document and upload it to the EasyChair system.
- Formatting guidelines:
- Tables, figures, and references must not exceed two (2) pages in total
- Margins should be 1-inch on sides, 1-inch on top and bottom
- Font: Times Roman, 12 pt.
- All text will be double spaced

Symposium - Submission Guidelines
Symposium presentations are about hospitality and tourism related topics of general interest, for example, best teaching practices, best industry practices, or latest trends in the hospitality and tourism fields. Industry professionals, educators and graduate students are encouraged to submit symposium presentations.
Symposiums MUST be formatted as follows: Please be sure to follow all submission guidelines; no exceptions will be made and submissions will be desk rejected for not following these guidelines.

Panel Discussion - Submission Guidelines
Panels are designed for larger group presentations and discussions of a hospitality and tourism related topics of general interest, for example, best teaching practices, best industry practices, or latest trends in the hospitality and tourism fields. Panel members will discuss the topic, followed by a period of participation by audience members. To ensure constructive proposals, each panel member’s participation must be committed at the time of proposal submission. The names of panel members, along with their expertise and role to accomplish the proposal objectives along with an email or written commitment must be included from all panel members to participate in the discussions. A list of 2-3 clearly stated discussion questions to encourage participation among the audience and these must be integrated within the main text of the proposal. Panel Discussions MUST be formatted as follows: Please be sure to follow all submission guidelines; no exceptions will be made and submissions will be desk rejected for not following these guidelines.
