The 5th International Conference on Software Engineering Research and Innovation (CONISOFT’17) will be held in Mérida, Yucatán, México on October 25-27, 2017. The aim of the conference is to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia, industry and government to advance the state of the art in Software Engineering, as well as generate synergy between academia and industry to define an agenda for collaboration to support and promote the development of the software industry in Mexico and at the international level. Papers that combine theory and practice in Software Engineering are especially welcome.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Track 1: Scientific papers (original research, basic and experimental). Papers written in English.
- Track 2: Teaching experiences. Papers written in English or Spanish.
- Track 3: Student Research Consortium: Bachelor, Master and Doctorate. Papers written in English or Spanish.
- Track 4: Industry experience papers (situations experienced in the industry, success stories). Papers written in English or Spanish.

Publication
(a) Accepted papers, from Track 1, will be submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore and other indexing databases.
(b) Accepted papers, from Tracks 2, 3 and 4, will be integrated and published in the electronic memories (with ISBN) of the conference, edited by the CONISOFT'17 Organizing Committee.
(c) Based on the quality of the submissions, we are considering publishing best papers in a post- workshop special issue of a distinguished journal. Authors will be required to provide expanded versions of their submissions, which will undergo an additional review process for inclusion in the special issue.
Venue
The conference will be held in Facultad de Matemáticas, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), Mérida city, Yucatán, México.
Mérida city is located southern México, in the Yucatán Peninsula, which hosts Chichen-Itza, the fifth Modern Wonder, and Cancún as a surrounding area. Mérida city is located about 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the Gulf of México coast.
