Building on the success of four editions of the Workshop on Collaborative Technologies and Data Science in Smart City Applications (CODASSCA 2018, CODASSCA 2020, CODASSCA 2022, and CODASSCA 2024), CODASSCA is now advancing to the next stage of its development as an International Conference. The first International Conference on Collaborative Technologies and Data Science in Smart City Applications (CODASSCA) will be held at the American University of Armenia (AUA) in Yerevan, Armenia, and is co-sponsored by IEEE. CODASSCA brings together researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry under the guiding theme “From Data to Information and Knowledge.” The conference encourages contributions spanning foundational research and application-driven work, and welcomes active participation from faculty members, industry professionals, researchers, and students, including PhD candidates. The goal is to foster meaningful collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange across disciplines. Society, science, and technology are undergoing rapid transformation as Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded in everyday systems. We are moving toward smart environments (SmE) enabled by ambient intelligence (AmI), where pervasive connectivity, collaborative technologies, and AI converge to reshape how we live, work, and interact. Data is the key enabler of these systems, generated at unprecedented scale through advances in sensors, sensor networks, and embedded computing. This growing volume of data, originating from diverse aspects of daily life, enables the design, validation, calibration, and continuous improvement of complex systems. To fully realize this potential, however, robust international standards for data quality, accessibility, and interoperability are essential. Mobile and distributed systems further expand the possibilities for researchers and practitioners. Effective data analysis, quality assessment, and responsible utilization are critical across domains such as smart systems, virtual and mixed reality, human-centered computing, multimodal interaction, and cognitive analytics. Many industries are already experiencing a paradigm shift driven by big data, AI, collaborative technologies, and smart environments. At the same time, transforming raw data into actionable information and knowledge remains a significant challenge. Ensuring data quality – including accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and appropriate volume – must go hand in hand with addressing privacy, security, and rights management throughout the data lifecycle. In addition, models and systems must be interpretable, providing insight into why decisions are made, not only what outcomes are produced. The aim of CODASSCA is to serve as a dedicated international forum for dialogue between theory and practice, research and application, and technical and societal perspectives. The conference also seeks to address the social and ethical challenges that arise when AI-driven, collaborative systems operate within interconnected environments, particularly in the context of smart cities High-quality papers that are accepted and presented will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore digital library. The conference accepts posters / short papers (3 pages) and full papers (6 pages). Authors should write their contributions using IEEE proceedings template (https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates) Please submit your contributions using Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=codassca2026) Best Papers: Selected high-quality papers will be invited to submit extended versions to special issues of the Journal of Universal Computer. |
