Scope
The Conference on Research in Computer Science and its Applications (CNRIA) is an international scientific conference that highlights new trends and advances in current topics in the field of computing and their applications for development. CNRIA is co-organized by the Senegalese Association of Researchers in Computer Science (ASCII) and the Ecole Polytechnique de Thiès (EPT).
The main purpose of the CNRIA 2026 conference is to serve as a forum for researchers from academia, ICT industry and development actors to discuss recent advances and cutting-edge topics in the field of computer science and its applications. This conference also serves as a forum for exchanging ideas, proposing solutions, discussing research challenges and sharing experiences between researchers, professionals and development actors. CNRIA 2026 aims at promoting the popularization of the contributions of the regional scientific community in new cutting-edge research topics such as AI, IoT, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Security, SDN, etc.
This 16th edition of CNRIA will be held on October 15 to 17, 2026 at the Ecole Polytechnique de Thiès, Senegal.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers: The regular papers for oral presentation must not exceed 6 pages with IEEE double columns conference paper template (DOC, LATEX (Source , Biblio)). All submission should be strictly done anonymously with authors names and affiliations left blank.
- Demos : This demo track provides a unique platform for researchers, practitioners, startups, and industry players to demonstrate live systems, tools, prototypes, and applications that leverage emerging technologies. The demo proposal should not exceed 3 pages with IEEE double columns conference paper template. All submission should be strictly done anonymously with authors names and affiliations left blank.
- Tutorials : The Tutorial Track of CNRIA 2026 aims to offer participants an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience on emerging and established topics in Computer Science and its Applications. Tutorials are intended to complement the technical program by providing structured, pedagogical, and practice-oriented presentations delivered by recognized experts from academia and industry.
This track welcomes proposals that present foundational concepts, state-of-the-art research advances, tools, platforms, methodologies, and real-world applications. Tutorials should be accessible to a broad audience, including graduate students, researchers, engineers, and practitioners, while also offering sufficient technical depth to benefit experienced participants.
The Tutorial Track seeks to promote knowledge transfer, skill development, and community building, enabling attendees to better understand current technologies, explore emerging research directions, and apply computer science techniques to solve complex real-world problems. The tutorial proposal should not exceed 1 pages with IEEE double columns conference paper template. All submission should be strictly done anonymously with authors names and affiliations left blank.
-
Early-stage research papers (Jeunes chercheurs) : The Early Stage Researcher (ESR) track of the CNRIA 2026 is a dedicated forum designed to foster the research vocation of Master 2 and PhD students. This session provides a privileged and supportive environment for researchers in the first years of their career to present their ongoing work, exchange innovative ideas, and receive constructive guidance from the scientific community.
-
The primary goal of the ESR track is to bridge the gap between initial research ideas and confirmed scientific contributions. In contrast to the main conference tracks, this session focuses on:
-
Work-in-Progress: Allowing participants to present preliminary results or research designs that are not yet sufficiently accomplished for a full paper.
-
Constructive Feedback: Facilitating direct interaction between junior researchers and experienced Principal Investigators (PIs) to refine methodologies and research goals.
-
Skill Development: Enhancing communication skills through the "My Research in 180 Seconds" (Flash Talk) format and poster presentations.
-
Networking: Building interdisciplinary and international networks to encourage collaborative research across the Global South and beyond.
-
-
This session is specially designed for:
-
Master 2 students initiating their research path.
-
PhD students (typically in their 1st to 4th year) who have not yet awarded their doctoral degree.
-
Early-career researchers in industry or academia seeking feedback on new research directions.
-
-
Prospective authors are invited to submit a short paper (up to 2 pages, with IEEE double columns conference paper template) highlighting the research context, problem statement, methodology, and preliminary results. All submission should be strictly done anonymously with authors names and affiliations left blank. Accepted contributions will be featured in:
-
A Poster Session: For in-depth technical discussions with peers and mentors.
-
A Flash Talk ("My Research in 180s"): A concise oral presentation to the full conference audience to increase visibility.
