The International Conference on Recent Advancements in Computing, IoT and Computer Engineering Technology (CICET) is a communication platform of researchers and practitioners both from academia and industry in the areas of Computing, IoTs, Integrated Circuits and Systems and Computer Engineering Technology. The main target of CICET 2017 is to bring together software/hardware engineering researchers, computer scientists, practitioners and people from industry and business to exchange theories, ideas, techniques and experiences related to all aspects of CICET. Finally, CICET 2017 will take place in The Tamkang University, Taipei, Taiwan, and October 23-25 2017.
This year CICET has selected Big Data as its central theme. Big Data is in a unique position in computing in that it is not only one of the hottest research areas but has become a competitive necessity in most industries. With the growth of mobile computing and the Internet of Things and the associated increase in data collection capabilities, the volume and variety of data available will only increase. However, in order to effectively and securely collect and utilize this data, new computational tools, models, and platforms need to be created. Because of the practical nature of Big Data, this needs to happen in parallel with the development of industry policies, standards, and applications in order for these new techniques to address and inform the needs of industry.
