The I International Congress on Vascular Access (I CIAV), an event that will take place in the Nursing School of Coimbra (Portugal), between the 26th and the 27th of September of 2019, aims to share research outcomes and cooperate in the construction of a network between different healthcare professionals who share an interest in vascular access.
Abstract submission is closed.
Communication of Abstract Acceptance: 28th of June.
Presenting authors of the accepted abstract must be officially registered and pay for registration until September 12th 2019 (requests asking for the change of the "presenting author" will only be considered until this date).
Authors are responsible for all expenses in the productin of their presentations, travel, and accomodation during the Conference. Please be aware that authors with selected papers can register in the Congress with First Phase rates (http://apoava.pt/i-congresso-internacional-de-acessos-vasculares/inscricoes-registrations/).
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Please consider the following guidelines for abstracts:

Abstracts must be complete, relevant, balanced and written in good quality English. This will help review and selecton by the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts will be edited by the Scientific Committee, but authors for whom English is a second language are strongly advised to have their abstract reviewed before submission.

Authors are responsible for the content of their abstracts and presentations (if accepted).

Faxed, emailed and handwritten abstracts will NOT be accepted. All abstracts must be submitted through the official congress platform (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ciav2019). The preferred format for your abstract manuscript is Word.

Authors should indicate under which of the proposed topics their communication is integrated: Education and Training; Guidelines and Consensus; Innovation; or Prevention. The Scientific Committee of the Congress may suggest topic change.

Authors should indicate the type of presentation preferred (oral communication or poster). The Scientific Committee of the Congress may suggest a presentation change.

The abstract must not exceed 300 words excluding the title, authors, affiliation, acknowledgments, and keywords.

The abstract should be typed in:
- Single spacing;
- Font size: 11;
- Font style: Times New Roman.
- Affiliations (one per author), as follows:
- Initials, Family name1 (Example: J. Smith1, S. Jones2);
- Use superscript numbers(1,2,3) to indicate author affiliations in order;
- Name of department, University/Institution/Company, City, Country;
- Start each new affiliation on a separate line.
- Organize the body of the abstract as follows:
- Introduction;
- Method;
- Results;
- Discussion & Conclusion;
- References (maximum of five references per abstract, cited following the SAGE Vancouver reference style);
- Acknowledgments (if applicable);
- Keywords (minimum three).
- Tables and graphs must be submitted separately with a maximum of two graphs (these will not be published).

Publication
CIAV 2019 proceedings will be published in a stand-alone online only supplement of Journal of Vascular Access (JVA) (Journal Citation Reports 1.306).
