PMU proudly organizes the Contemporary Challenges and the Future of Law Conference (CCFL2027) to be held at the PMU campus in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia on February 2–3, 2027, focusing on legal frameworks for Artificial Intelligence, Technology, and Cybersecurity. CCFL2027 provides a dynamic platform for policymakers, legal scholars, practicing lawyers, judges, researchers, industry experts, university professors, and students to engage in critical dialogue on the evolving role of law in regulating artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and cybersecurity challenges. From regulatory frameworks for artificial intelligence to data protection, cyber risk governance, and technology-driven legal systems, the conference seeks to generate actionable outcomes, including policy recommendations, academic collaborations, and forward-looking research agendas that respond to rapid technological disruption.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and must include the author’s full name and university affiliation, together with a maximum of six keywords.
We will announce full-paper requirements at a later stage. These requirements will reflect the submission and formatting guidelines of the Scopus-indexed journal(s) designated for publication.

1. Governance and Regulatory Frameworks for Emerging Technologies
Examining national, regional, and international regulatory systems governing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This theme focuses on risk-based regulatory models, legislative design, standard-setting, and the role of international cooperation in shaping coherent legal responses to technological development.
2. Cybersecurity Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management
This theme addresses legal and institutional approaches to cybersecurity, including compliance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and critical infrastructure protection. This theme explores governance mechanisms, regulatory enforcement, and the development of harmonized cybersecurity responses across jurisdictions.
3. Data Protection, Privacy, and Cross-Border Data Flows
Analyzing legal challenges related to data protection, privacy rights, and international data transfers in an increasingly digitalized environment. This includes regulatory compliance, surveillance concerns, and evolving global data protection regimes.
4. AI, Digital Security, and Cybercrime
Exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in protecting digital systems and sensitive data. This theme examines vulnerabilities in AI-driven systems, cybercrime threats, and legal responses to emerging risks in automated and data-driven environments.
5. AI, Technology, and Judicial Processes
This theme critically examines the integration of AI and digital technologies within judicial systems, including predictive justice, court technologies, and legal automation. The theme addresses implications for judicial independence, fairness, transparency, and liability and accountability in automated decision-making.
