The Workshop on Computational Approaches to Morphologically Rich Languages (#CAMRL2017) is organised by the Leeds University Kartvelian Studies group. This one-day workshop aims to bring together established specialists and postgraduate research students working in the field of computational morphology and morphosyntax. The Workshop will feature plenary talks by Jost Gippert, Andrew Hardie and Marine Beridze, talks and poster sessions, and a training event by Andrew Hardie focusing on Morphosyntactic Annotation Schemata.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Anonymous abstracts should not exceed 800 words (12-point Times New Roman font, with single spacing and margins of at least 2.54cm/1 inch), including examples and references.
Each abstract should be submitted both as a .doc, .docx or .rtf file and as an unprotected PDF file via S.daraselia@leeds.ac.uk. When submitting the abstract, indicate the type of contribution (paper, poster). As a file naming convention please use the following structure: SurnameAuthor1, SurnameAuthor2, first two or three words of the title.
List of Topics
The theme of the Workshop is linguistic annotation; there will be a particular focus on the Kartvelian languages, but contributions on any other morphologically complex languages are welcome. Relevant topics include but are not limited to the creation of annotation schemes, methods for automatic and manual annotation, use and evaluation of annotation software and frameworks, and encouraging dialogue between researchers working on unrelated languages.
Specific area of interest
- Morphosyntactic and/or morphological annotation
- Semantic annotation
- Segmentation / Tokenisation
