The Biosystems Engineering conference is organised by Estonian University of Life Sciences. It aims to become the leading annual conference in Baltic region in fields related to traditional and modern engineering techniques and technical solutions applied to biological systems. The goal of BSE 2018 is to gather scholars from all over the world to present advances in the fields of biosystems engineering and to foster an environment conducive to exchanging ideas and information. This conference will also provide an ideal environment to develop new collaborations and meet experts on the fundamentals, applications, and products of the mentioned fields.
Submission Guidelines
Submission of Abstracts
Supporting publication
The abstracts of all participants will be published in the Book of Abstracts (with ISBN). Book of Abstracts will be provided in electronic format and will also be available at the conference homepage.
Guidelines for abstracts
Authors are advised to prepare concise and informative abstracts focusing on the objectives, methodology and results of the work. The scientific committee will decide based on the abstract your acceptance to the Conference to present your work and will invite you to take part in oral or poster session accordingly. Abstract should not exceed 500 words. You will be asked to submit the following information in the EasyChair platform:
- Title of the paper
- Authors and their affiliations
- Relevant conference topic
- Preference for oral or poster presentation
- List of potential reviewers
There is no limit in the number of authors per abstract.
There can be up to two presenting authors for each abstract. Correspondence will be made with the presenting author(s).
The presenting author(s) will be notified about the successful submission of the abstract immediately after submission and the Reference Code will be given to each abstract. In the event that such notification was not received, please contact the organising committee at bse@emu.ee.
In later communication please refer to your abstract/paper using Reference Code.
Notification of abstract acceptance/rejection will be communicated to the presenting author(s) within 10 days after submission.
If an already submitted abstract has to be changed/corrected, the new version can be uploaded in the EasyChair platform and the old abstract will be replaced with the new one. Reference Code for the abstract stays the same.
As there are many more abstracts submitted for oral presentations than there are available slots within the program, the Scientific Advisory Committee will select the most relevant abstracts to be presented orally at the Conference. This decision will be communicated as soon as possible. Those abstracts that have not been selected to be presented orally can be presented as posters.
Submission of papers
Authors of the accepted abstracts will be invited to submit their full papers (including figures, tables and references) through the EasyChair platform.
Supporting publications
All accepted papers will be published in AGRONOMY RESEARCH or ENERGIES.
The full papers published in Agronomy Research will be available on-line (free of charge) and a hard copy of the Agronomy Research will be provided at the Conference.
Papers for publishing in a special issue of Energies will be selected from the manuscripts that have undergone the reviewing process and are in a relevant field of research.
Guidelines for papers
Contributions will be accepted on the understanding that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication and that the article is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the publisher.
Papers should be in English (British spelling). Authors are strongly urged to have the papers reviewed linguistically prior to submitting. While preparing the manuscripts, authors are requested to adhere to the instructions for authors which can be found at General Guideline for Authors
Template for the full paper can be downloaded HERE.
The corresponding author will be notified about the successful submission of the manuscript immediately after submission. In the event that such notification was not received, please contact the organising committee at bse@emu.ee
All papers are rigorously peer-reviewed by specialists in the specific field before acceptance.
Non-acceptance of the full paper does not exclude one from participation at the BSE 2019 Conference. Authors with accepted abstracts can still present their research at poster session of the Conference.
